Wait for the Lord!

Truly my soul silently waits for God;
    from him comes my salvation.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my defense;
    I shall never be moved.*  

Remain devoted to the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
    do not fret if the sinner prospers on his way,
    because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. **

Wait for the Lord, and keep to his way,
    and he will exalt you to inherit the land; ***

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord! ****
