“Surely he has borne our infirmities and for our sake suffers. We accounted him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our sins, tormented for our iniquities. What we should have undergone, he suffered. With his wounds we were healed. Like sheep we were led astray and we lost our way. Thus the Lord sent him unto death for our sins. And though he was tormented, he did not open his mouth to protest and complain….He was crucified and was led to death for the iniquities of the people, says the Lord.”
