“The Network of the
Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Health Care”
The aim of the new “Patriarchal Network” is to bring together, in a working network of cooperation, all the Metropolises that belong administratively and spiritually to the Patriarchate, representatives from the other Autocephalous Orthodox Churches, those that are responsible for pastoral education in the Theological Schools and Ecclesiastical Academies, together with others that serve and are related with the pastoral care of the sick and with the medical and hospital care in the sensitive area of health. The “Patriarchal Network” will also create dialogue with other denominations and with other agents that concern themselves with health care.
The Network will give the opportunity to all those that participate:
The person responsible for the “Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Health Care” shall be the “Coordinator” of the Network. He shall be assigned by His All-Holiness. The Coordinator must submit a written annual report to the Ecumenical Patriarchate regarding all that has been done and all that is planned for the coming year.
The Coordinator shall be flanked by a “Central Committee” and by special professional co-workers. The members of the “Central Committee” will be chosen so that the various regions that are administratively and spiritually under the Ecumenical Throne (i.e. Europe, the Dodecanese, America, etc.). The members of the Central Committee shall be assigned by His All-Holiness, at the recommendation of the Coordinator.
