Sunday of the Prodigal Son
The humble cry to our Heavenly Father
One comes to know humility through illness because, through it,
one comes face to face with one’s self,
with one’s physical and spiritual weaknesses,
with the deterioration of human nature,
with one’s limitations,
with one’s inability to completely control life,
with the need for one to trust others, and
to accept their help,
to face pain with endurance and patience.
It is then that one will shout to the Heavenly Father saying:
God is my helper, my protector and my savior. He is my God and I will glorify Him.
