The Metropolis of Atlanta held a retreat for medical and health care professional at the Diakonia Retreat Center-Salem, SC
Between the May 5-7, 2017. The retreat was organized by the Patriarchal Network and the Holy Unmercenaries Medical Society (HUMS).The theme of the retreat was “A Journey from Professionalism to Spirituality”. Some 30 professionals attended. Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta opened the retreat stating the importance of this effort. Heading the retreat was Fr. Stavros Kofinas, Coordinator of the Patriarchal Network. He presented three lectures: 1) “From Professionalism to Spirituality”; 2) “Illness and Loneliness”; 3) “Hope for Caregivers”.
